What does "Value" mean in my test results?
When reviewing your STD test results, you may encounter terms sucg as "reactive", "not-detected", "non-reactive", or a reference range. "Not-detected" and "non-reactive" indicate that the specific STD was not found in your system.
The reference range is used to determine whether the STD value is high enough to be considered positive; if it falls below the range, the result is considered negative. For instance, in the "Herpes Simplex-2" test, a reference range of < 0.90 means any results below this value are deemed negative.
Can I consult with a doctor if my results are positive?
Should your test results come back positive for any STD, our experienced doctors are available for phone consultations to discuss your results, answer your questions, and provide guidance. They may also recommend further testing or discuss potential treatment options based on the specific STD detected.
Interpreting "Result" on your report, the term "result" refers to the outcome of your STD test. Your result will either be positive or negative, depending on various factors, including the presence or absence of an STD in your system.
Is it possible to contact the same STD again?
Unfortunately, it is possible to be re-infected with the same STD if you continue engaging in unprotected sex with an infected partner or if you do not complete the prescribed course of medication.
Moreover, you can be infected with multiple STDs simultaneously. For example, having HIV can increase your susceptibility to contracting other STDs.
